2026 Spec Slash Rules
Red River RC – Spec Slash 2.0 Rules🚨

The Red River RC Spec Slash class is designed to be affordable, balanced, and fun for !!!NEW DRIVERS!!! And young drivers interested in the hobby!
A box-stock Slash with a transponder should be fully competitive.
Performance upgrades are not allowed; only approved durability upgrades may be used.

⚡ 2026 Motor / Electronics Rules (Brushless is the Standard)
Starting with the 2026 Spring Season, brushless is now the official standard for Spec Slash at Red River RC.
Allowed Motor / ESC Combos
• Traxxas BL-2S (3300 kV)
• HobbyWing Justock (in blinky mode)
13.5T (sensored ~3200 kV)
No other ESC/Motor combinations allowed.

📌 Required Gearing (2026 Season Standard)
Brushless Systems
• Traxxas BL-2S: 21/83
• HobbyWing 13.5T: 22/90
Brushed Trucks (If Anyone Still Runs Them)
• Must use stock Traxxas gearing only (16/90)
• Brushed trucks are still allowed but not performance-equal to brushless and are now considered “legacy/not preferred.”
Brushless is the competitive baseline for 2026.

• 7-cell NiMH
• 2S LiPo
No voltage checks — charge at safe, manufacturer-recommended levels.

Eligible Vehicles
• Any 2WD Traxxas Slash RTR (brushed or brushless)
• Traxxas Slash Unassembled Kit (58014-4)

🚫 Cheating
If a racer intentionally violates the rules (illegal electronics, gearing, chassis, or hidden mods), they will be removed from the class.
This is a community-friendly spec class, and keeping it honest is the priority.

📦 Vehicle Rules – 2026 Season
Body
• Must be Traxxas Slash body
• Clear bodies allowed if painted
• Broken safety hazards may be trimmed away

• Must remain stock Traxxas
• No LCG chassis
• Only Traxxas OEM replacement parts are permitted

Suspension
Must remain stock unless listed in the approved upgrades below.
Allowed:
• Stock ride height collars
• Stock white Slash springs
• Traxxas aluminum shock caps (3767)
• Shock oil changes allowed
• RPM rear hub carriers allowed
Not allowed:
• Aftermarket arms (except approved HD Traxxas arms)
• Aluminum or carbon performance components
• Aftermarket springs

Original Traxxas Slash brand 2.2” wheels and tires. Traxxas’ soft compound version of the kit tire is permitted in any Traxxas branded tread pattern

📏 Tech Checks
Inspections may happen at any time if:
• A racer requests a legality check
• A truck appears out of spec
• Something clearly performs beyond allowable limits

• All heats and mains are heads-up starts
• No boost/turbo
• Class emphasizes driver skill, not hardware
